Ping Opera

    Ping Opera, local opera of north China, is very popular in the huabei area. It is one of the operas which people most like.
    Ping Opera roots “lianhualao” whose old name called “pingqiang bangzi opera”, most people called it “Tangshan laozi ” or “BengBeng opera”, and in some areas people calls it “FengTiaolaozi”. “lianhualao” as an folk say-and-sing art, has a long history.
    Ping Opera originate from the country of Luan County which located in east Hebei, and formed in Tangshan in 1910. The BengBeng Opera rename Ping Opera when it performed in Shanghai in 1935.

Jingxing Lahua Opera

    Jingxing lahua (a kind of folk performance) come from the street flower-meeting of the festival, temple fair, celebration and sacrifice, formed and gone round in Jingxing county, Shijiazhuang city of Hebei province. To this day it has been hundreds of years' history, and is loved to see and heard by all mass. It has a good praise that everyone can perform lahua. In 1996 Jingxing County is named “the Town of Lahua” by China Culture Department. Jingxing lahua belong to north yangger, but it has itself features that have both strong and soft, and both boorish and connotation. Now Jingxing holds the royal contest of lahua every year.

Laoting Drum

    Laoting drum also called “Laotin tone”, named because it root in Laoting County of Hebei Province. Laoting drum is a kind of loved to see and hear opera by people. It is popular in the counties of east Hebei, north China and northeast. It is rich in tone and lyric. From Chenhuomai, Qizhen and Shangxiaoan in the end of the Guangxu region of the Qing Dynasty, to Jingwenran, Hanxiangyou, Qiwenfeng and so on in new China, it get increasingly development and innovation.

Hejian Xihe Drum

    Xihe drum, also called Xihe tone, is a kind of local opera that has the most performers and the most extensive popular area in Hebei. It roots in some villages in mid-Hebei, and prevails in Hebei, Henan, Shandong, Northeast, Tianjin and Beijing, etc. Its features are that the perfomer's right hand strikes the drum with drumstick, the left hand holds a double iron boards, and sings in the local language. Its tone is very agile, the language civilization, and rich in expressive force. It pays equal attention to both saying and singing, and have all long, middle and short story.

Huanghua Fishing Drum

    Huanghua fishing drum's birthplace is Fenjiabao village of Huanghua city where is in the seaside of Bohai sea. It has been popular in the local fishing villages along the sea. Huanghua fishing drum roots in the later Qianlong region of the Qing dynasty, about 200 years to now. It is said that a fishing drum actor cadged in this area because of the disaster taught it. Then it increasingly absorbs the features from the local ballads, and became a unique opera that its rhythm is bright, the tone smooth and it has a strong village features. Huanghua fishing drum is an amusement form in the fish men. Its main form is colony performance, but one or two persons could also perform it.
